Make Friends and Meet People Washington DC

When I was transferred here for my job, I really wanted to Meet People Washington DC. I didn't care that much about meeting a man as I was in just making friends. I made several friends with people in my office, but I am very guarded about letting co-workers know too much about my personal life because that got me into sensitive situations in the past.

I'm not into social networking any more but when I was I allowed my co-workers to "friend" me. That gave them access to where I was and a whole bunch of other personal information that was none of their business. I only "friended" them because I was new to the company and though it would be rude to reject their friend request. I have since closed my account and no one can know my business any longer. I meet people wherever I go, so it's no surprise that I found it so easy to Meet People Washington DC. I'm constantly getting transferred from office to office so packing up and moving every two years is nothing new.

From ballroom dancing lessons, to cooking classes and even rock climbing outings, there's never a shortage of events to attend. Since I am mostly looking for female companionship - not that I wouldn't like a man in every city I've lived in- there are several women at these events and since I'm really good at talking to strangers and making follow-up plans, it makes it even easier to find friends.

A co-worker of mine who is painfully shy has recently warmed up to me. We went out for a drink after work and I invited her to an event that we were both mutually interested. Patience Pays, In All Relationships

We tell ourselves and also others to have patience, especially in crisis but somehow when it comes to the crunch, impatience takes over, panic sets in and the end result is certainly not what we would have ideally liked.

Most people learn the value of patience the hard way, as they go through hardships and experience the adverse outcomes of impatience and haste.

For a few though, patience is part of their temperament and nature. They are calm and collected even in the most challenging situations.

When it especially comes to relationships, patience pays rich dividends. Relationships can be strong and supportive and they can be delicate and fragile as well. Losing your temper, hurting the other person's feelings, saying spiteful words in a fit of rage (even though you didn't mean it) … these are all terribly damaging to any relationship. Regretting your words later may be too late to repair the damage.

I am listing here a few relationship tips that will help you avoid distress and agony in your love and marriage relationships, or for that matter, all kinds of relationships. These are universal values that create the foundation of all strong and successful relationships and my advice would be for you to remember them, especially in stressful situations:

1.‘Ten thoughts before one word' – Think before you speak rather than doing it the other way around. Most often, we blurt out words we didn't mean and then start thinking about how they might hurt the other person. Rather than thinking after speaking, think ten times before uttering the words. Remember, words are like arrows – once they shoot out of your quiver, you cannot make them return.

Therefore, choose your words with care. Especially when you find yourself in the middle of an argument or a miscommunication in a love relationship or at the receiving end of a friend or colleague's complaints or grievances. Do not fly off the handle. If you also start yelling and fuming, you will find yourself slipping further away from a resolution to the conflict. Take a deep breath, listen to the other person quietly, while thinking hard on what will help resolve the stressful situation. Avoid reacting with anger or animosity. You will find that the other person will appreciate your patience and listen to your words later with more composure and respect. You will not only be able to help the other person see reason, you will also make the foundation of your love or marriage relationship with that person stronger.

2.Control on your temper – Life is not always perfect. Hence, there is no guarantee that everything will always work according to your wishes. There are so many things that take place throughout the day over which you don't have any control.

Traffic snarls that delay you, files that go missing, a virus attack on your computer or database messing up all your hard work, children crying and causing havoc at home, coming back late from work and finding the house in a mess, dinner getting burnt and so on. Murphy's Law says, "If anything can go wrong, it will."

Try to take situations that don't match up to your liking in stride as essential parts of life. Problems help you appreciate value of good things. Face the problems with calmness and fortitude. If you keep your patience, you will find the solution. If you fret and fume with impatience, the problem will remain as it is or become worse. Panic and anger only complicate things further whereas patience and good sense help you get to the desired result.

3.Be calm when reacting to the other's mistakes – In any relationship, there may be times when the other person makes a mistake which may cost you dearly. If you go hammer and tongs at the other person, be it a friend or colleague or your spouse or even the special person in your life – you will only end up making that person feel insulted, guilty, nervous and panicked. Place yourself in the other's shoes and you will realize how painful this experience can be. Such needless bickering can spell doom for a love or marriage relationship. A handful of patience is worth more than a bushel of brains to preserve and protect your bonding.

If you deal with such situations with maturity and patience, you will help the other person realize the gravity of the mistake and also give him/her the confidence to rectify it. Above all, you will earn respect for your calm and wise behavior.

4.Do not fret over small issues – "Difficult times have helped me to understand better than before, how infinitely rich and beautiful life is in every way, and that so many things that one goes worrying about are of no importance whatsoever..." - Isak Dinesen

Stop worrying and getting worked up on small issues. Every love relationship or marriage relationship, or any relationship for that matter, goes through ups and downs. Celebrate the ups and take the downs in stride and do not fret over the small stuff. Your relationships with your loved ones will be more successful, strong and supportive if you stay away from picking arguments and fights over trivial matters.

Always remember you cannot change anyone including your spouse. People change themselves. The best you can do is to enlighten people about the ways to improve themselves and keep your patience until it happens.

Fake Friendships

Ladies, is that so called friend of yours calls herelf a friend but she really isn't? Is she making your life miserable?

Well have no fear, cause when it comes to that subject, you're not alone and I would definitely say absolutely yes. Cause they're some friends that say they're your friends but in all actuality, they're more faker than a fake Fendi bag. Sounds kind of harsh right and then you later realize that you guys have nothing in common and came from two different worlds that just collide once the two of you hang out together.

Ladies, have you ever been in a position whereas the person you were friends with didn't know how to treat you, let alone found yourself working harder than an average 9-5 job in order to keep the friendship going? Well if you have, then that means the she was never your friend to begin with and she was just using you to get what she wanted from you, she basically was just acting so she can ease her way just to walk a mile in your shoes. So pathetic right!

Newsflash: When you have a real friendship, you're not supposed to work in it and truth be told, the only relationship that you're supposed to work hard at keeping together are your working relationships and the relationship that you have with your partner or spouse and most of all the relationship that's most important that no one can ever touch and just work hard is the relationship that you have with yourself cause that's one of the relationships that is priceless and can't be touched cause like it or not, it supercedes everything.

Now here's a way to find out if that friendship is more faker than a fake fendi bag is if she's having a bad day and if by chance you're having a good one, she will automatically want you to have a bad day as well and will just try to rain on your parade. Cause if she's miserable, then more than likely, she'll want you to be miserable as well. That's what I call a foe cause real friends aren't supposed to act fake, treat you bad, get involved in gossip or even try to drag you in the mud when thing are going bad for them, they're really supposed to be supportive no matter what because if you notice that you're the only one being supportive in their time of need and they're not being supportive in your problem areas, then you really shouldn't be friends to begin with.

I feel like this, if a friendship doesn't bring me joy, then I automtically end it no matter what cause why should I stay in a friendship with someone who's only going to make my life miserable as well as disrupting my comfortability level cause she's miserable herself so do remember; misery loves company! like it or not cause if she entertains the drama then that friend is considered a drama queen especially if she calls you non stop after disrespecting you because she knows that the guilt is eating her alive and doesn't know what to do with her life now that she figured out that you're ignoring her because of her behavior.

I personally know a chick as I speak at this moment while writing this article and she's someone that I call a bug a boo cause she knows exactly all the negativity she tried to bring me around as she expected me to be a part of that negativity and wanted me to entertain it with herand that's not something that I'm into and right about now she doesn't understand that I won't entertain her let alone, speak to her. I mean she went as far as getting me fired from my job that she hooked me up with and then pretedned as if it wasn't her that got me fired because she was jealous of me and didn't know what to do with herself.

My mother gave me her view on fake friendships that's more faker than a fake designer bag and she said that; you can spot who's fake and who's not fake cause fake friends have a special voice when they're being fake with you cause If you really notice and look into this closely; Fake people are always on your back non stop and want to walk in your shadow and play you closely and have a way to tell you things knowing that they're fake with their land of make believe friendships so they tend to go around a subject and that is what you call a backstabber so you must always watch out and they act like they're on your side but really isn't which is more like spot changing and they start calling you names like sweetheart and honey knowing it's not true. They just say that to try to butter you up and when you turn away and turn your back, they make all kinds of faces and when they're with their friends they'll gossip behind your back and say; that broad thinks she's all of that and when you turn back towards them, it's another story as they shout out and say girl, I was just thinking about you.

So when it comes to fake friendships that are more faker than a designer bag, fake friendships are faker than a $3.00 bill. I know it does sound fake, cause there's no such thing as a $3.00 bill so it doesn't get more faker than that.

Finding Friend Washington DC is So Easy if you Make the Effort

Are you shy and find it hard to make Friend Washington DC? I'm shy and spent my first eight months living in DC, going to work, leaving work and picking up dinner from various delis, and going home to walk my precious dog and watch TV until I fell asleep. It was very lonely and I desperately wanted to make friends with some women.

At the time I wasn't interested in meeting men because I was in a long distance relationship with my boyfriend in New York. We spoke on the phone several times a day, and sent texts to each other, but it wasn't the same as living with him. He was waiting to see if he could transfer his job to DC and he visited on weekends regularly. But I still had no way to find friends. At least I though I didn't. Basically, I just wasn't putting in the effort.

I figured out that the way to make Friend Washington DC was to sign up for classes at community colleges, attend seminars on things that interested me, and I also signed up for a ballet class. I loved ballet when I was younger and thought it might be fun. After doing these things I made friends.

I don't think it's important to have 20 friends. I just like having two or three close girlfriends that I can trust. That can be hard to come by and it takes a while to make friends that way, but over time it happened. After this one seminar on African Art one woman suggested we all go around the corner to this coffee place and discuss the seminar. There was one woman there that I clicked with and we exchanged numbers. The next day she called and asked if I wanted to join her book club because one of the members left the group and they wanted to fill the space. I was thrilled to join because I love books.

Making Friend Washington DC was so easy from then on. If you are willing to partake in different events, which there are plenty of in DC, you'll slowly but surely have close women friends in your life. I still miss my friends back in New York, but I now love my new friends here. And the best news of all is my boyfriend got the transfer he wanted from work. He better put a ring on it soon!

Furthermore, to retain friendship, friends should always balance their work as well as their time so that they can be able to share moments together. They must also encourage their selves in the times of distress and discouragement, and friends should tolerate their individual faults and weaknesses.

Gaining and maintaining friends needs a matter of commitment. You must be committed to keep them and value them like you value a treasure.

Nicole Alejadro: My Best Friend Washington DC

Nicole is my best Friend Washington DC. I have known her for almost five years. We were introduced at a night race in June of 2007 by her brother who was my boyfriend at the time. When we met, I was 15, she was 12, and now we are 20 and 17. We have been friends through so many of life's ups and downs that I can not imagine how I could go through life without her by my side.

We lived together, in the same room, from the fall of 2007 until the summer of 2008. We had matching beds, the same kind of computers, we shared everything from clothes to make up to hair accessories, and we spent every waking moment together. We took turns cooking for each other, we shared chores, we talked to each other while taking showers to keep from being bored or lonely, we listened to each other's phone conversations, we gave each other advice, and we did many other things together that no matter what in the world every happens that people should not or normally would not do in the same room. After I moved out of her house, she came to mine every morning before school and right after she got out. We made weekend plans together, too. When I relocated for a year to do some training, we lost touch drastically. It was almost like we would never be friends again. That was the most depressing time of my life. There are no secrets between us. I would never want to make online friends with anyone else.

Nicole and I now live only ten minutes away from each other, so we see each other as often as we like when we have time aside from our super busy schedules. Our lives our significantly different in that she works a full time job, goes to college, and is with her friends when is not doing that or sleeping.
